DR JOHN HOGAN, LECTURER IN POLITICAL SCIENCE
Biographical Details:
Dr. John Hogan graduated from the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University, with an MA (2001), and a PhD (2005) in political science. He was awarded two post graduate scholarships from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS). He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in the School of Law and Government DCU (2005) and the Department of Political Science, Trinity College Dublin (2006). Additionally, in 2009, along with colleagues Dr, Raj Chari and Professor Gary Murphy, hewas awarded an IRCHSS Strand 1 scholarship for research into international lobbying regulations.
John lectures in International Political Economy, and Irish Politics in the Dublin Institute of Technology. He has published extensively on global lobbying regulation and economic crises. His publications have appeared in political science journals in North America, Europe, Asia, Britain, and Ireland, such as the Canadian Journal of Political Science. Acta Politica, the Journal of Public Affairs, Irish Political Studies and the Political Quarterly. Additionally, he has written and edited a number of books on global lobbying regulations, Irish politics and society, and qualitative methodology. He is a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Political Science, Irish Political Studies and the Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, in addition to being a panel chair in the American Political Science Association (APSA). John welcomes enquiries from potential research students (research masters or Ph.D) in the areas of economic crises, policy change, and lobbying regulations.
